Good luck, Kelsey, and other civic leadership trainees

I’m a big fan of Leadership Sioux Falls, an annual training program conducted by the Sioux Falls Area Chamber of Commerce.

In fact, I’m a graduate of the program, which is designed to identify and groom future community leaders.

Holly Brunick, our chief financial officer, is also a graduate of the program.

Hundreds of people who live or work in the Sioux Falls area have participated in Leadership Sioux Falls during the past 28 years, and many of them have risen to positions of civic or professional leadership.

Kate Foley, who manages the program for the Chamber, says she routinely gets calls from companies and organizations that, for example, are looking for program graduates to serve on their boards.

I’m proud to announce that Kelsey Sweeney, who coordinates investor relations, marketing and social media for our company, has been selected to be part of this year’s class. She’ll be a great participant.

Thirty-three people will be in this year’s class, which will participate in monthly training sessions from October through May. I think they’ll enjoy the experience. Best of luck to all of them.
