The hospitality and construction industries have seen immense growth and success over the past year. Looking back on 2022 and forward to 2023, we are sharing fun stats and future plans for HEGG.
Sharing the Stats
It adds up. Here are some surprising stats from HEGG Hospitality from last year.
- We provide 960 complimentary bottles of water to our guests per week (or 49,940 bottles of water per year)
- One housekeeper cleans 65 rooms and makes 98 beds per week (or 3,380 rooms and 5,096 beds per year).
- This equates to an incredible 21,125 square feet of feeding and sleeping space cleaned per week by one housekeeper (or 1,098,500 square feet cleaned per year, per housekeeper)!
- Our hotel Starbucks serves an estimated 1,000 guests per week (or 52,000 guests every year)!
- Our most popular Starbucks order is a caramel macchiato (it’s a close tie between iced or hot, but the hot caramel macchiato is ordered slightly more).
Now, that’s a lot of rooms cleaned and coffee ordered!
Review of Major Projects in 2022
In 2022, we also completed several projects, such as renovations for the bar inside CRAVE, outside renovations at The Courtyard, Dacotah Bank renovations, and the completion of HEGG Modular. In addition, we continued to build more Silverstar Car Washes throughout the year. We are proud to have accomplished these projects and are looking forward to an even more successful year ahead, with completing the Embrace Church renovation and more exciting projects launching in 2023.

Highlights of Growth in 2022
Last year was also another year of tremendous growth for our employees. We saw leaps and bounds in internal promotions, with more employees promoted this year than ever before, we created more recognition programs and expanded our robust benefits program.

One of the areas of growth we are most proud of is our emphasis on creating opportunities for all employees. At our Hilton Garden Inn Sioux Falls Downtown property alone, eight languages are spoken as employees’ primary language. We took great strides towards inclusion and embracing other languages by working with REACH Literacy to help teach English as a secondary language to our staff. We are one of the first companies in South Dakota to take advantage of this opportunity, and it has been invaluable to many of our employees who do not speak English as their first language.
We know how vital communication is and how inclusive we have to be at embracing other languages and cultures, which is what REACH Literacy is helping us do even more. This solution provides an opportunity to make sure that all of our staff members have access to learning and evolving their skills, regardless of their backgrounds.
Plans for Continued Growth in 2023
In 2023, we’re planning for growth.
Our team looks forward to bringing on 50-60 new team members at HEGG Modular, so if you are looking for a career change, keep an eye on our open positions. We also have several construction projects that require experienced project managers and superintendents. Hospitality is supposed to have a huge year, so we are planning to add both leadership and front-level employees to our teams.
